| will 17inch D3 rimms fit on a D3 HSE? |

Hi collective font of D3 knowledge, I have recently become the proud owner of a 2008 D3 HSE, whilst it has very nice 19 inch rims I am looking for a spare set to run winter tyres. I have been offered some cheap 17inch Disco 3 rims but a couple have people I know recon that the 17inch disco rims won't clear the brake calipers on my car.
I have looked on the will fit/wont fit threads but this has left me as confused as before (I haven't actually seen the 17inch rims as its a friend of a friend job).
If I can fit 17 inch wheels I hoped to fit 245/65 r17 winter tyres as these are much cheaper than 235/70 r17 will there be any problems with this ? according to my research it wont be a big difference (speedo 1mph high at 60mph)
anything I haven't thought of with this plan?

17" rims are fine on a TDV6 (all models), but not on a V 8, as these have bigger front brakes, and the 17" rims wont go over these.

I have heard so many mixed reports, but mine is a diesel so sound promising (the 17inch winter tyres work out £200 cheaper per set)

No, if its standard TDV6, then 17" wheels are fine.
