Rocking driver seat.

I have this problem with my drivers seat. It rocks ever so slightly on pull away & braking. I have searched the forum and found this fix:-

http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...atrock.pdf

The problem I have is I cannot see the connector that is in the picture. I can see a connector but not the one that is shown in the picture, mine has different coloured cables. I can just about see the motor but can hardly get a finger on it. I think I can feel a Drive cable with my finger tips but no idea how to remove it from the motor? Is this picture from an earlier model disco. Mine is MY09 HSE.

Is the picture in above fix definatly taken from behind, as in row 2?
How does the drive cable release from the motor, modes it just pull out?
Can more access be obtained by removing the plastic covers that house the memory switches?

Sorry for all the questions but am I missing a trick here somewhere the procedure overview says "A simple but controlled under-seat adjustment"?

Any help from someone that has done this will really be appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance.

Chris. Thumbs Up

Edit: link should now work.

Your link doesn't seem tom work, but if it's the thread I'm thinking of, there's a link to technical bulletin which shows some pics that are initially confusing.

I had the same problem ('09 HSE): and the same issues/confusion with the pics. However, take a deep breath and pull the cable out of the motor. It unclips further along to give you a bit more room to work, but once it's out, it's a walk in the park.

And it cured the problem in mine perfectly. It took me about 3 minutes.

Thanks for the reply Flyingsniffer.

I have fixed the link now,
Is this the technical bullitin you refer to?

How does the drive cable come away from the motor, does it just pull out without releasing a retaining clip or something?

That's the one. The cable literally pulls out of the motor, it is surprisingly compliant and not as 'stiff' as it appears at first. I understand your reluctance, but - subject to usual caveats about being at your own risk Wink - take a deep breath and give it a tug!

It's a while since I did it but I seem to recall that the there is a u-clip that the cable slots into, however I might be wrong.
