Maiden Voyage in the Swamp
The first offroad venture for both me & the LR3 at JW Corbett wildlife preserve. There were 10 rigs attending - 2 Heavily modded D2s, a modded 03 D2, 90' RRC, lifted P38 on ATs, 1 LR3, a modded D1, an older CJ i think it was, a Jeep Rubi that joined, and a Series III! It was a blast!!
Coming up to the first mud hole, I hear over the radio "It's a pretty deep one, we're gonna be winching out the 'Victoria's Secret Sponsored Team' in the LR3 here." When it was my turn all eyes were on the lil' LR3 expectantly and my heart was pounding LOL. I stepped on the gas a little too heavy and blasted it putting the hood under water & a big splash. Popped out the other side of the wave with no problem. Everyone was hooting & cheering!
The LR3 didn't get stuck once, made it through everything like a piece of cake. Impressed some folks for sure on the capabilities of a STOCK Disco 3 - especially me. Thanks for all the help & encouragement, don't know that I would have tried without y'all.
There are a few pics posted in my gallery you can check out. One girl had a really nice camera and took all the action shots. I'll post when I get them.I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

That is SO COOL. I wished you lived a lot closer. We need serious encouragement for the local woman who own LR3's around these parts. I'm helping a new batch of Land Rover owners out next week on a Women Only training day: http://www.offroving.com/services.php
I struggle to get my wife out and about in our LR3. She'll do it, but too seldom for my tastes.

It looks great fun and so sunny and warm. 8) Was there any damage at all to your car?

That pic is really cool! Man I wish I lived a lot closer too, that class would be great! It'd be nice to find something like that around here, or even an LR3 club in general.I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

It did start to sprinkle towards the end but then cleared up again. It would've been really messy fun in a downpour. I got a few scrapes under the front bumper and a couple scratches to the side panels I think will polish out.
One thing was a ticking sound in the front after I plunged through the first hole too fast but it went away after it dried out.I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

That's our mascot Bella - half Pomeranian/half Chihuahua, she had a ball (except when the big dogs tried sniffing her rear). I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

Yes, I use a Canon 20D digital SLR with an assortment of lenses. I most often use an old 17-35mm F2.8/L lens, but also really enjoy my 10-22mm wide angle.
