Given the D3's reputation as an expensive disaster waiting to happen, what are members' top tips to avoid problems?
i have adopted quite a simple approach -
if something does sound right or the car doesnt feel right - track down the issue "immedeatly" and replace the parts - dont wait until something breaks or fails..Duncan

True enough, but as my OCD is entwined with laziness the above shots don't reflect my toolbox a few years down the line. But it felt good to collect all my tools in one place and gain space in the garage for a car or 2. I may have been a bit scattergun before and I may (the wife may have strong views on this) have forgotten what tools I actually had...
So now my OCD is limited to keeping my tools in a rough order and thinking that I should clean the draws out from the grease and accumulated grinding dust at some point, before shutting the draws and remembering the great god that is beer. Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
