BlackVue stuck in 'parking mode'

After some months of having my BV running via the ciggy lighter, I decided to wire it in on a permenant 12v feed in the fuse box behind dash.

Since doing that, it has dropped into 'parking mode enabled' and is now stuck ! The only way I can get it to work in a 'normal' manner is to disconnect the power and leave it to settle for a couple of minutes before applying power again. This is fine until it drops back to 'parking mode' where it then sticks again.

Any ideas ??

Steve

a few suggestion to check

strange one that, what model are you running ?

have you tried going back to power feed from socket, what happens then?

have you tried checking that you have latest firmware? if not update!

if you have latest firmware, you can still format the card and re-install firmware!

have you put any metering across the power feed to see if it is at the level it should be (compare live feed with socket figures)?

how long you had it, try contacting the supplier to see if they can help!!

sorry no direct help, but it would be the path I would go to resolve!!

good luck Thumbs Up

edit:- is it possible getting a power spike at start up (engine) and thus doing something silly??

press the button forever. should shut down. press to start.shpuld reset any probs

had issue with friends when usomg lighter as the blackview has an inernal battery which if low causes problems. leave it on for a few days then restart.
It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

Well - tried all the usual options with no sucess. When powering up, just get the blue ring ( Confused ) and nothing futher.

Reformatted SD card, installed and upgraded the firmware. Left connected for a considerable while - no change, left disconnected for a while, no change.

Do not now get the 'no SD card' voice prompt either (yes it is enabled in the config Rolling Eyes )

From where did you take the power feed? And is it really full battery voltage? I took the power (and earth) for mine from where there could be two more relays in the fuse box - no problems.

Took the feed from the 'under dash' fuse box (behind the glove box) and used a piggy back fuse holder on Fuse 28 (I think). Never though to check the voltage Whistle - I'll do that this evening.

Bow down

Sorted !!

OK - back to normal at last.

Disconnected BV and left disconnected for several hours. Checked voltage - 12.46v so that was OK.

New Micro SD card (SANDISK 16gb), full erase format (just in case !), upload new v3.40 firmware.

Went back to an igintion only power feed (still in fuse box, piggy back off cigar lighter circuit).

Bingo - all working again.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

glad it's sorted Thumbs Up

As you wrote that when you turn on all you get is blue ring; that sounded like it was trying to reload firmware
so micro SD was the culprit?

what class card do you run?

My blackveiw used to get stuck in parking mode also, firmware upgrade and formatting card didn't work, so i bought a class 10 card as others have done and now all sorted. Thumbs Up
