| starter and alternator problems ? |

hi there my discovery3 05 plate developed a fault ,the starter is just clicking ,battery is fine ,alternator light is on. all happened at the same time .anybody any ideas?ps wont start with a jump start

See if the starter motor solenoid is stuck by giving the starter a whack to see if that free's it off , But if your red light is on then your alternator sounds like its packed up thats more than likely your problem your battery needs over 12 volts to start a D3..
How do you know your battery is ok ?. The main cable from the battery goes to the alternator then branches off to the starter motor ..
