Hi all. I am reluctantly considering the sale of my car but dont really know what I should be getting for it and am I better off waiting untill we get closer to winter? Its a 59 plate XS model with privacy glass, side steps and chrome mirrors in metallic black with only 34,000 miles on the clock. A dealer has offerred me £24,000 on a p/x but this sounds way off the mark! any help appreciated.

I think you could probably sell it at £30K all day long.
Dealer will probably sell it for £32-£34 2014 D4 XS

I have been looking at a couple of XS in a private sale as i was thinking of making the leap from my D3. Private sale no concern to me as under 3 years old so still in warranty with option to extend. I have looked at a few on the usual places (autotrader, ebay, pistonheads) and have seen a fair few XS with 34-36k miles on for between 28 and 32k so trade in sounds about right. We need to all start looking at hard facts, residuals on this car are only forecast at about 45% after three years and 36k miles so at three years old they should in reality only be trading at about £21k. Now we know the reality is they hold better than that but i still personally think these figures are where in the current climate we are going to see prices heading. Dont like being bearer of bad news but its out there for all to see. All I know is i have taken a big hit on my D3 in the year and a half i have owned it in depreciation terms
