Tow bar wiring

Hi, im just about to fit the genuine LR wiring kit to a 54 plate D3.

Does it need to go to a main dealer to have the ECU enabled?

Job done!
Bought the genuine LR 13pin kit and its a straight forward process once you realise the tow hitch opens at 90 degrees to a normal socket.
Took about 45 minutes to do and all works as it should.
