Scratched "A" Pillar Trims

I know these aren't expensive to replace but as they are only slightly scratched thought i might maybe try "T Cut" or similar Whistle

Anyone ever done this?Did it work? Or should i just replace them?

If I recall correctly I used T-Cut or something like it (rubbing only very lightly) then used AutoGlym bumper and trim gel (the green logo'd bottle). It looked okay but the deep scratches never came out as I wouldnt have expected them to.

I've changed the offside one recently (as you say they're not expensive, less than £40) as it was loose. The two lugs at the top and bottom had broken off. Removing this then unearthed rust which I had to repair (probably will rust again) and found more rust under the nearside roof rail trim in the channel.

The new trim fitted so much better as the rubber strip that touches the windscreen wasnt bent back after years of use and gave a so much better fit.
