Groaning noise

Hello all

Just after a bit of advice over the last few days I've noticed a faint groaning noise when driving the car any ideas?

I've just taken the Disco out and round to a mates, who is a former mechanic and former service manager. Within minutes he'd diagnosed the problem as a front wheel bearing and I suspect the same nearside one that I had replaced about two years ago at Duckworths.

I should have realised myself, as it its louder on left hand bends and corners as the nearside loads up and quieter on right hand bends and corners.

So my next question, is there a how to for changing front wheel bearings?

Cheers

It's comes as a full hub assembly. I've just ordered 1 today from L/R to replenish stock. You'll need the caliper and disc off. Hub nut and the hub itself is held in with 4 bolts through the hub carrier similar to the Disco Td5. The only potential problem is the driveshaft been siezed in. ( Although if it's the same side again they might have put some grease / oil on it !! )

Here you go:

The easiest way to get the hub nu toff is with an impact driver, though can be done with a breaker bar also.

You might find Bodsy's Brake Bible helpful as well as some of the same stuff needs to be removed and reassembled to do the hub Thumbs Up
