Air suspension fault and Air con fault |
|
Had problems with air suspension last week fitted new rear air bag which it did need but after that it still had fault,
took to main dealer and they hooked it up and diagnosed as compressor knackered £500 please sir,
anyway didnt have it done straight away as they couldnt get it in till tuesday.
Over the weekend i heard a hiss coming from the front which i allready had told dealer about, i decided to trace it and hey presto found a rubbed throught pipe which goes from pass front air strut across under radiator to the valve block,
sorted problem with a 99p push fit saving £499.01p
secondly also had it in dealer for the clock spring a few weeks ago and while it was there got them to put dye in aircon and check for leaks.
they reported back that they couldnt trace any leak and it was holding gas, but to be fair they didnt charge me for it.
it lasted about 4 hours,
today i had it done again but by an indy garage and had a leak stop put in too, got home and thought i would go out and see if i could hear anything,
found a hiss and tracked it to air con rad , found a leak at the top of it.
just proves that dealers rely on hooking up to computers more than good old fashioned detective work

Andy - good work/diagnosis.
Can you point me in the right direction for the air fittings please? - after some as "in case" spares for a long journey.
Thanks

Most good motor/truck spares places should have them.
But if you search eBay for 6mm air push fit, you will find them on there too, I carry a metre of pipe as well now
