Car not starting after changing brakes

I have today followed Bodsy's Brake Bible and changed all 4 sets of discs and pads.

I removed the EPB fuse and then at the end as you may have seen from another post I put it back in the wrong place because I'm not the sharpest!

Anyway, now put the fuse for the towing brakes in it's place so should all be fine.

Try to start the car and all I get is a rapid clicking sound and lines go down the display screen in front of the steering wheel.

Is this somehow the immobiliser, have I Censored it by putting the fuse back in the wrong place?

Does anyone have any ideas please as I can't even get it to RoverTune to plug a faultmate in!

Thanks all.

Could be as I did have the electrics on for 3 hours whilst doing the rear brakes.

Looks like I'm off to Halfords to buy a charger then!

Thanks

If its really flat you will need to leave on charge preferably a few hrs at least better overnight..

Have you tried a jump start from another running vehicle, using a GOOD set of jump leads ?

I often find that when a battery is totally, totally flat it will not jump start anyway. Get the battery on charge for a bit.

Or, get it connected and ready for a jump start, then leave the two batteries connected together for a short while before attempting to jump it Thumbs Up

Thanks for all the comments and I guess when that any people tell you it's a flat battery they can't all be wrong!

Sure enough, got the battery on charge for a day and it hen started first time!

Think the battery I was trying to jump from was just not strong enough!

Think I'll turn the stereo off next time I work for a few hours!!! Embarassed

Think I've had my full year's entitlement of senior moments in this one week!

Thanks again everyone!

Unless you get the real heavy duty jump start battery your average battery pack's are not big enough to jump start a D3, If you plan on maintaining your car then it might be wise to invest in a decent charger like the Ctek range.

Flack Thumbs Up
