Uneven rising
Hi all,
Very new around these parts and have a quick question (please forgive me if this has posted a million times before - a brief search didn't really answer my question)...
The hydraulic suspension. I looked at a couple of D3's yesterday - one with 105k km, the other with 38k. When testing the suspension the 108k lifted fairly quickly, one end and then the other.
The 38k one seemed to lift more like a corner at a time, and a bit slower. Are either of these things anything to worry about?
Thanks in advance

Neither sounds correct, should lift evenly all round. I think.

Mine always lifts rear first, then front, I understand that this is normal and intended to prevent blinding oncoming traffic if the headlights are on, likewise, when lowering to access height the front drops first.
I think the speed of rising depends on how much air is in the system reservoir, If it's been standing for a long time it could be depleted and relying on just the compressor to raise it so it may appear slow and a bit uneven.
Its air suspension by the way Clive

On the whole mine rises evenly though I have experience rear then front lift on my old D3 ...interestingly da big book say that uneven rising could be due to a valve block issue 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
The rear of the car will always come up first due to the weight of the engine on the front air bags, that is normal.. as for the car that seems to lift uneven again it depends on whats loaded in the car and the condition of the compressor, the system is air driven by the way and not hydraulic.

Thanks for the responses all! Top info, as per.
I'm off for a second look at the 38k tomorrow so I'll double-check how it lifts, if it's dodgy it must have done a pretty hard 38k!

I read it as though the vessel had a fairly constant bar of air available which when the vessel pressure drops by 1 bar is topped up by the compressor when the vehicle is running If the vehicle has been standing then the only change to the system is the levelling adjustment which just releases air to try to level. The vessel's output is blocked. No ? Complexville 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

As long as it levels and raises all the way, I wouldn't worry.17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca
