Gurgling & Bubbling

Just when I think my dastardly Disco is fault free and going like a train it comes up with a completely new thing for me to fret over!

When I pull up on the drive and shove it in to park and switch the engine off without the parking brake on with my booties on the foot brake I hear bubbling and gurgling. Almost like water running. No leaks, no malfunctions, just gurgling! Any ideas?

It's not aircon. Doesn't do it if I put the parking brake on first before I switch off the engine but switch off the engine with my foot on the brake and away it goes!

I've been getting this when holding on the footbrake or more than 30 seconds or so.

Thinking its a case of relacing the brake fluid as may have moisture in the system causing it to boil?

I'm just learning all this car maintance stuff so i'm sure someone with more experience will correct me, but anymore help or theorys is glady welcome

Is the car pointing downhill?? If so, I'd suspect that the brake servo is full of oil. There is a Recall out about this - check with your Stealer whether your car has been done.

As an aside, I had this problem (even though the Recall had been carried out), but found that I 'ran out of servo' when attempting an emergency stop (normal braking was fine). It may be worth seeing if the car pulls up sharply, or if the pedal goes very hard when you try ...

As Spooky says, your brake servo is full of oil. Mine sounded like I had an aquarium behind the dash Mr. Green
Get it booked into a main dealers to have thie modified vacuum pipe fitted and servo checked and replaced if necessary. Go careful, mine was so full that when I was going down a steep hill I would loose the servo-assist Shocked Thumbs Up
