Newbie Question

Please forgive me if this is obvious, but I'm not sure how to describe the problem in a search.

I have recently bought a D3 2.7TD SE 2008 model (73K Miles)

I have noticed that under light braking, at low speed, driving over cobbles there is a rattle type noise coming from the front suspension/wheels.

I have no strange noises when not braking.

I am wondering is this is normal or a cause for concern.

Any advice gratefully received.

Regards,
Steve

welcome Thumbs Up

could be Anti Roll Bar Bushes - cheap to replace

or ARB drop arms - a little bit more expensive

or suspension arm bushes - even more expensive.

All relatively easy to replace and no major issue

Thanks DiscoDunc.

I will get my mechanic fella to cast his eye over these things, as I'm having a few other things sorted out, but you have got me wondering.

There is a slight wobble on the steering wheel at 70mph, which I had put down to the wheels needing balancing, I wonder if the two symptoms are related?

Regards,
Steve

Apparently the only part of the suspension that even might the the problem is the lower wishbone bush....

Not expensive so we'll see how it goes after the work is done.

Steve

it often works out cheaper to replace the entire suspension arm as the become corroded on and you pay more in labour to get the old one off. New wishbone come with the bushes already fitted Thumbs Up

Just to report back.

Wheel balance sorted out the wheel wobble.

The Wishbone bushes sorted out the strange noise on the cobbles.

Steve
