Another turbo question
Hi all, when the turbo actuator starts playing up has everybody had a message on the dash and fault code logged?
Reason I ask is just one out of curiosity cos when my turbo failed it was guttless unless ignition cycled like most but I never got a warning message or any fault codes logged but new turbo cured it.
Just wanted to know really as it interests me how many of these things fail.

as above, engine message and vehicle went in to crawler mode, turned it on again and off we went but codes logged on the ecu for later.
New engine and turbo sorted mine

Ditto above for 2nd replacement turbo on my D3. First replacement on mine (and same on SWMBO's) wouldn't clear with ingnition cycling.

Initially could clear everything by cycling ignition, first 6 or 7 starts after initial warning then just stayed in crawler mode. Pig to get to garage to get turbo swapped (2 miles!!) For information mileage was 48000.

I got ESF on dash and no power until revs were right up, actuator solid, new turbo cured it as fault code showed 'Turbo electrical failure' (can't remember what the code was )
