90K service price and brake hose pipes |
|
Just had my recently purchased '06 D3 HSE 90k serviced by a local garage (a sister garage to a main LR dealer). Two questions regards service price and specifically, brake hose pipes.
1. Price for the service was £529 which for a non-LR franchise struck me as expensive, am I right?
2. The brake hoses. They were an advisory in 2011, yet passed without note in this year's test so someone's got it wrong. Before I go back to the garage my Q is, is the general rule these should be changed at 90k/6 years service regardless??
cheers

90k plus MOT £395.48 at indy in Chesterfield (Cavendish Motor Workshop). Recommended by 'Vinnie' on this site. Add the belts - £755.47. Going in next week. Haven't had a break for six years (cancer & kidney failure. Transplant from wife) so we're OFF to do Europe! Therefore don't want to worry about belts.
As for brake hoses. Geoff, the indy, says hoses will be checked as part of service but he hasn't had to replace any yet and he has customers with more than 200k on the clock.

Thanks Therso, looks like you've got a good price there. I'll be doing a lot more looking around next time for the 105k service. maindealerdiscount.com seems to offer a good starting point.
