HDC fault etc

Ok, my G4 has just shown the following:

HDC Fault

Special Programs unavailable

parking brake fault

and the symbol for adaptive headlights fault is showing as well as the engine management system light.

It will not allow the suspension out of access height either.

On good advice, I have just fitted a new LR battery, and the faults are still there. Starts and runs fine.

Geoff is on his way over tomorrow on an unrelated matter but I dont want to look like a numpty in front of him if it's something basic! (Well, no more of a numpty than usual anyway!)

Best,

Steve

Ok Brake lights are working fine - All lamps are in fact ok. I take it the brake switch issue is if it's sticking ?

Sorry for the daft questions - Just enjoying the joys of being a Land Rover Owner Smile

The brake switch starts to break down and allow tracking thus creating spurious signals which the car cant understand so it has a hissyfit.

A bit like the wife really.

From others posts it does sound like the brake pedal switch, might be worth changing anyway at £7 or so. Got one in the car in my just in case stuff Smile

2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual Zambezi SilverDiscovery 3

I went up to scotland in June and did a driving tour round the coast and a couple if islands in 6 days (1400 miles). Was just coming into glasgow on the A82 and mine wnet into HDC failure and exactly the same as you. Pulled in and sweated etc etc.

Made it to a macdonalds and looked up all the threads on this site. The one that worked for me was turing ignition on and letting the whole thing come up in its own time. No probs since Bow down Bow down Bow down

Hope its works for you. Since then all works ok but do remember braking as a coach pulled in and thats when the dashboard became a xmas tree. Will also order a switch at £7.

On a different thread, 05 plate S and had a permgrin on for all 6 days, what a motor,

Good luck Thumbs Up

OK - Turns out it was a wheel bearing that's sending the ECU into "Sh*T itself mode" Being done tomorrow so it should be back then! Am experiencing the joys of D3 ownership ......

Just ordered some more tools and I might need to buy a Fault reader I think! LOL
