Headrest grab handles

I am going to attempt to fit some dvd headrest at the weekend and I cant decide whether to cut a hole in the headrest to take the grab handle or cut the peg off.

I read that they are quite solid with just the bottom fixing so I am drawn to cutting the iron bar of the end of the grab handle, that way if I am ever lucky another to get a D4 one day then I can move them into that and have no holes in the side of the headrest.

Those who have done these what did you do and why did you choose that way.

Thanks

I kept the old headrests and cut holes in the ones with the screens in as I wasn't happy with the twity-mess of the handles only with one screw at the bottom of them Thumbs Up

Best thing is to cut holes in the headrests and let the grab handles slot in, looks far better and can be refitted if you decide to take out the screens.... Imho
If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

I'am sure there's no reason why the d3 headrests cant be put back in if you cut the handles, I'am sure it woudn't show that they had been cut.

would it ?

Thanks Andy for the link Thumbs Up

only way is to test it for yourself, take the headrest off and put the handles back just with the lower bolts in and give them a reasonable pull in the directions that they might get tugged Thumbs Up That's what I didi and deciced that the extra bit of strength given by leaving the peg stuck in the headrest behind the frames was worth cutting a hole in...

cut the handle (as they are cheap)

checked the spare part price for the handle and than decided that due to the low price I could always get a new set of handles if ever needed...
As mentioned earlier in the post I also took off the headrest first and fixed only the handle alone with the single screw. The result was so strong that I decided the handle would be strong enough for my usage pattern.
In addition I was afraid to cut into the nice new headrest Embarassed
