We decided not to hang around Park City for the 4th July parade this year as we've been for the last few years, so we went for a bit of a run.
Over into Wyoming, up to Fossil Butte national monument. Whole lot of nothing in that neck of the woods (reminds me of a small Wyoming town we ate in one evening, the twin girls serving asked if we knew the queen and both kept bowing )

It was worth a visit, but it was too hot to hike to any of the quarries, so we high-tailed it to Bear Lake (back into Utah and then up into Idaho). The lake was amazing, very clear warm water, with a vivid blue colour.

Took the pups along; I made the miskate of leaving my 'famous raspberry shake' (that the area is known for) in the car when we jumped out for a family pic. Turns out the dogs like milshakes...

The home via Randolph. We stopped at a cute little store - on one of the signs it says Randolph holds the record for the lowest temp ever in Utah , -50F

Next roadtrip is to Cody, WY then Yellowstone Park in about 4 weeks :thumbsup:
