Changing Intergrated Transfer case module

So I have ordered a new module for the Transfer case..

I have the new module in my hand.. hmm.. what good does that module do in my hand? well.. Need to get it fitted soon. So why not use the weekend to do it. even if it pours down outside..

Pics:

Old One

New one

Do I have to grab my Msv-2 and program it, or is it just PnP?

Why are you changing it? Did it just quit or giving you problems? I ask because I've had a few fault codes pertaining to the transfer case but everything has been working fine as far as I can tell

Due to faultcodes I have to change it I guess

System Fault, Special programs off
No Low range change possible
Terrain response Disabled
If I try to hit the switch for low/high range, nothing happens.
If i try turning the wheel knob nothing happens.
No light indicator for his is lit

Fault on Transfer box:

P1811 and p1807

P1807 Transmission 4-Wheel Drive High Indicator Short Circuit To Ground..
P1811 Transmission 4-Wheel Drive Low Indicator Short Circuit To Ground..

So I hope this will fix the problem.

I removed the old ecu and had a look @ those 3 connectors.

I found evidence of moisture rust. Lots of it. The connectors where almost stuck cause of the growth. That green stuff that I found there is not suppose to be there I guess.. I was thinking that car was a bit more eco friendly now.. "I love the green Censored ". Wel.. have to replace it today.. still a bit too early on a sunday to start working on the car.. a bit more Coffee.

Heya..

I did measure those 3 connectors that goes in the ecu, followed the wiring diagram the connectivity from those 3 connectors to the switch pack in the car and those 3 connectors on the transfer case (auto) and it all looks good.

So the wiring is fine on mine.. I did a good round of Crc on them too.

Btw thanx for the link..

Ok then there is another wire to check. Its that supply wire that runs inside down the left side & they do corrode near the rear arch which also cause lost comms with ecu.

Do you have a picture of that part that corrode?

I cant visualize what you are mentioning here in my head

Lost comms with the ecu.. hmm.. I havent lost the communication with it.. well pehaps I did.. I tried a reflash and the faultmate threw up an error.. something with the ecu did not respond.. strange cause i can read the ecu tho..

I cant find any short to ground anywhere in the wiring loom.

Cheers Robbie.. Cut`N`Paste is a nice tool..

T4.. hmm. I do not have that.. but i bet msv-2 can do the job..

as I mentioned before.. I can see my Vin nr stored in the old ecu. Do I need to do anything with that on the new module?

or am I just to download the software from bbs and write to ecu?
