As far as I know it is a case of unplugging the old twin socket and plugging in the single 13 pin socket. I believe it is a bit fiddly but can be done with the bumper in place. As for the diffrence, the new 13 pin is far superior in my opinion, just make sure the plug on the carvan is sprayed with silicon occasionally to ensure the collar turns freely. Hi Steve
It's a pretty simple job to remove the 2 7 pin sockets and re wire the cables into a single 13 pin.
I personally fitted a complete new rear loom as I tow with atc and wanted to ensure this was properly fed as adaptor leads can give some intermittent connection issues.
The new 13 pin arrangement is far superior.
Good luck with the collection !

Great news on the new van, nice one.
Well jealous you're away - not been away for a month as we're moving house.

I use the euro plugs on everything here now. Easy to connect, relyable and tidy. I keep a halfords adaptor in the boot just I case I pick up something with a 7 pin.
