devonchilliman, highbayrack.
At the moment an OBD solution is not available for the D4's and due to its complex anti tuning protection it may take quite a while before its ever possibile just as it was with the D3's back in 2004, though we can tune it with the ecu on the bench no problems.
I have set up my kit now in such a way its possibile I can tune the D4 ecu's at the shows providing I can get an internet connection on my 3G router in the show truck office.

How does the fault code reader function compare to a Faultmate FCR? Same?, better? and is it locked onto the one vehicle or can it read multi vehicles?
Might just get one and get rid of my FCR.... Faultmate MSV2 MultiVehicle

The fault code reader in engine only where as the FCR is a full car module supported device.
The remap interface gives the P code for the fault code of which can be entered into the search box on my web site for the text meaning to match. It can be also used to read and clear fault codes on other D3's as the core reading part is not vin locked.
As an example if anyone wished to give it a go. type P0404 or any fault code for that matter into my search box for the matching text meaning. http://bellautoservices.co.uk/bas-remap-interface/

From what I can gather the Box from BAS is essentially the storage device for the map, that way if it's taken in to a dealer and your ECU firmware upgraded your map in on the box and not lost for ever !
The box is a basic fault code reader and doesent do what the FCR does ?

Exactley that, providing you return the car to original for dealer visits, IF needed we can erase the remapinterface and reuse it again with a new FREE tuned file if the dealer makes any software updates to your ecu while they have it.
Its very important you return the car to standard BEFORE the dealer visit as this puts the box back in a unlocked state where we can erase it if needed, If the car is still tuned the box is locked tothe car and cannot be erased without a costly firmware repair from the factory.
I personally advise if you visit the dealers for ANY work, return the car to standard first. Once you ge the car back just re apply the tune you have stored on the box.
If the dealer has made a software update the box WONT apply the out of date software it has stored and it will advise you of a mismatch and to speak with me about a new file so you have no fear of loosing your dealer upgrade or overwriting it with old software.

I know this thread link below is for a Defender and not a D3 but i have done very simlar things to the D3, D4, RRS, Evoque and now the 2.2 TDCI Defender. It may give some people an interesting read and a little incite on how things are developed and tested at BAS before they go on sale to the pulbic and in most cases before tuning solutions are even available to main stream tuning companys from tuning tool providers .
Id love to write one for the other landrover models i have covered but i just cant face sitting down writing it and doing it as it takes an age to type and add pictures etc lol. (some would call me lazy hehe)
