I use a Garmin 7200 - excellent product BUT no longer available new HOWEVER they can be obtained from e-bay at around £200.00

It lacks some of the modern facilites such as 'lane view' but is an excellent Sat Nav PLUS if you want 'dead reckoning' for the times you are tunnels etc then the next one in the range the 7500 comes with speedo link cables.
Use the 7200/7500 and you rapidly see how poor the LR built in unit is. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

I can help you with this depending on how much you want to spend I can do you an OE look model which is either 6.5 screen or 7 inch and does phone dvd cd rear camera ipod usb aux and a pile of other bits and pieces for roughly £650 if your interested
If you pm me an email address I can send you a photo of the unit and its now came down in price to £550 just checked the suppliers price

went for the Garmin Nuvi 2585 TV and purchased Transit nunber plate light camera HSE TDV6 Silver : "Avin it large"
