Why dont the front camera come on automatically when the front pdc starts beeping? It makes logical sense to me.

My guess is that could be considered distracting to have the cameras come on as you roll forward in drive. E.g, You switch focus to the screen only see the bollard the PDC is warning you about just as you hit it.
At least with reverse, you are stationary when the screen comes on.
Or something like that.
But that could be avoided by having screen always showing camera (front or back depending on the gear) when PDC is active whether done manually or from having been in reverse. That should be ok.
