Compared to my recent D3 the headlights on the D4 are far too low. I never had anyone flashing me to say I was blinding before them so I assume the D3 was correctly aligned. My question is, are these lights adjustable or not? I've just spoken to the supplying dealers service department to be told 'I don't know, maybe, not sure' Bloody hell, 54 grand on a new car and they don't know whether the headlights are adjustable or not. Does anyone on here have a clue whether I can adjust these myself or is it a dealer visit?

I read my manual and it says the D4 headlights are self levelling due to the suspension settings. Would assume its the same as the D3

To the best of my knowledge the D4 is no different to the D3 which means, althought the Xenon headlamp system is "self-levelling" this levelling is achieve through the air suspension and so the head lamps do need to set correctly in the first place to ensure they have a correctly adjusted baseline setting.

They are leveled by the suspension but can also be adjusted a little, if you look at the light unit you will see there are a couple of screws.. do a search it has been covered before, I think Wiggs might have something in his gallery on it..
Its also in the handbook to adjust for continental driving

I then inserted 4mm spacers between the top 2 screws and tighten... Heeha... both Xenon and Halogen then focused in the same spot. I then used the usual adjustment screws to adjust the whole assembly back down to where they should be.
All well and happy now.
