Scorpion ATRs, twice the life of a zero, will cope with snow and some mud, I haven't come across any downside, there is no increased noise, extra fuel comsumption, lack of grip, go to Camskill to get a good price comparison for what he offers and also view what the tyres look like.

I was just going to ask the same question. Mines due a new set. I have Goodyear wrangler on at present not really sure how they compare to others. Lots on here seem to favour the at grabbers ? I'm 99% road driving. Mine are 255/60r18 112 load. Is that the best size to replace with also as I see others going for 55 or 65's.

You will struggle to find the ATR in 19" (255/55x19) as Pirelli no longer supply them to the UK, 18" is still available but very thin on the ground, we do mhave stock of both.

Another great choice is the General AT..........very many happy customers all over the UK, and should be available for a good few years.

Avoid buying tyres that you can't replace if you do have a problem, my advice is that if you have your heart set on ATR buy five just in case.

Was using same size Goodyear Wrangler's until last month.

Replaced with a set of General Grabber AT's from Camskill, not a lot of use as yet, some use on gravel and sand where there is a noticeable improvement. On road, seem to grip well with no noticeable increase in noise of fuel consumption.

I have GG ATR's and they seem really noisey to me and fuel consumption is pants. I was hoping that if I change them it will improve both aspects.

Good prices from Camskill Thumbs Up

Just ordered 5x 255/55/19 Pirelli ATR from my local indie tyre supplier. £174 each full inc. of VAT, fitting etc. Taking into account the fitting, not paying for carriage etc. about the same price as Camskill, but I've had excellent service for the past 20 years from my indie, so I'd rather support them than save perhaps £10 and have to lug them about in the boot to get them fitted.

Currently, they're still easy enough to find, but prices vary wildly! If the supply of 19" ever does run out in the UK and I think the rumours of that happening were first started here about 3 years ago Laughing, Pirelli still list them on their French website as well as other EU countries. I doubt that they'd be a lot in it price wise even after paying for shipping.

But, as I get approx. 50k miles out of a set, I should be OK for a while. I expect Pirelli will have a newer version before I need replacements.

Still the best all round tyre from my customers choice remains to be the General AT. Thumbs Up
