Hi there,
i checked my 05 4.4V8 in with LR and got the front lower arms replaced to stop the odd knock in the front when turning mainly. i got the dreaded list of other jobs required on the vehicle which they suggested was in the next 6 months or so as detailed below. I am keen to see what can be done at once and whether i could split to do back and then front or vice versa but very keen to improve the overall handling of the car and hopefully getting these done will remedy the old feeling handling.
appreciate your advice here and also at the same time of getting this done i need to get a service but wanted to cost out the labour charges or complete job cost with parts.
Description of Work:
o/s/r stablizer bar link requires ball joint ( has play )
require rear bar bushes
require replacing of front stablizer bar bushes
o/s/f track rod has play
n/s/f track rod has play
n/s/r track rod has play
o/s/r track rod has play
rear lower arms require replacement/refurbishment including bolts. bushes worn and arm rusted around bush
rear wheels not turning smoothly so require cleaning of linings and adjusting.
i got a new MOT today and the guy said no issues with excessive play anywhere but it feels a bit sloppy handling wise. i still get the odd knock fromt he front left along with a bit of movement in the rear especially when going around corners at moderate speed ( nothing excessive )
