Rear Brake disc part numbers

Hi Fellas

Got the car back from teh stealer after having my 105k service done and HP fuel pump replaced (apparently it was leaking Big Cry ).

But am also told that my rear brak discs and front break pads need replacing. So rather than fork out another fortune I am looking to get the parts myself through a trader friendof mine (he has auto service garage - wanted the LR stamp in the book for the 105k service and got a nice shiny new jag as courtsey car Mr. Green )

Anways back to the point I am wanting to buy the parts and do it myself (with help from said friend) so I need to know the correct part numbers as for MY05 SE TDV6.

Had a look on teh web and there seems to be a number of options including 17inch and 18inch so am left a bit confused Neutral

cheers Thumbs Up

Hi Ash,

The standard rear discs for a D3 TDV6 are part number SDB000636

Take a look at Bodsy's brake bible for assistance doing the work: http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=4184

Don't know if you are interested, but I am getting my brakes upgraded to the V8 ones at the end of the month and the original discs will be available for sale, the car has only done 19,000 gentle miles Thumbs Up

Any recommendation on after market uprated performance brakediscs and pads for D3 (TDV6). Want to get mine remapped later this year...so some extra stopping power might be handy Thumbs Up

Upgrade to V8 discs. More worthwhile (IMHO) than fancy discs...

upgraded discs and pads

Hi Ash, All,

i've had EBC discs and pads fitted on my D3 for around 6 months.

Brake bite and stopping power have improved over the origonals.

Wear rate on the pads is good and there appears to be less dust on the wheels.

I would defineatly reccomend EBC as a brand, altho they are a little on the pricy side.

HTH

Hi Alan..

yeah seen the EBC ones on fleabay and elsewhere. never had had heard of EBC tho thats probably bcoz i'm not all clued up technically. Wink

So it will either be the V8s as Mikey suggested or the EBC..decisions decisions decisions Thumbs Up

Spain

I run the EBC brakes on my race car (get a discount for them)

I have no issues and they are made in the UK, thought if I was looking I would prob look at the supercharged RR brembo ones if they can be fitted, but guess they are a little more expensive.

Hi Guys

The V8 option is appealing. My fronts dont need changing only the rear discs. So could I have V8 or EBC ones inthe back and original TDV6 ones inthe front?

what affect would it have on breaking?

Thanks Thumbs Up
