Fitting Spots

I fitted spots to my old TDi a few years back. I wired them into the headlight main beam circuit so they only came on with the 'brights'. Does anyone know which wire this might possibly be on the D3? I found the TDi equivalent in a Haynes manual.

Cheers.

Looks like my next daft question will be: how do I mount non-LR lamps e.g. KC Dayliters? Looked at the fitting instructions for the LR A-bar and LR lights and it appears they are separate, unlike on the old TDi, where the lights slotted into 2 holes in the middle of the A-bar.

Depends if you've got an A Bar or not? dickgriff has a nonstandard set mounted on his A-Bar - the mount points look easy to make a bracket to fit on to them. If you've no A-Bar I think you need to buy the mount brackets

Nobby we just used the exisiting bracket that came with the lights but changed the bolt size to fit the threaded receivers built into the A bar.

Not a helpful picture really Confused but shows how they looked after fitting

So there is some sort of mounting mechanism on the bar itself?

Yes ..it's designed more specifically for the LR spots ..each side has the receivers moulded into the rubber.. there are two bolt holes about an inch apart ...we just used one pair of bolt holes for the lightforce units.

This should make it super clear...

The plastic block & bolts (shown on RH picture) comes with the LR Lamps but as DG said, the receiving holes for the bolts are built into the bar

Nice. A pair of black KCs should fit very snugly.
