Offset question for those that have (or had) 20" Storme

I have found a wheel distributor that sells properly weighted Stormer alloys in 20" x 9.5" size. They have two (2) versions of the Stormer wheel, one in 45mm offset and one in 50mm offset. I have used an offset calculator to determine that either would fit and the changes to the interior clearance and increased outward distance. It seems that a few people on here have run Stormers with 50mm offset. For those that have run the 50mm offset Stormers do you think 45mm offset would stick out too far from the wheel well? Granted it would only be another 5mm, but curious to see what people think before I purchase.

If I recall correctly, genuine LR 20" stormes have an offset of 53, so anything less "in theory" is better, as it moves the wheel/type combo futher out in the arch, and further away from the suspension uprights. It does also put slight more strain on wheel bearings.

I dont think 5mm further out is going to be noticable to the eye, to be honest. The "look" you end up with will depend more on the tyre size/spec you fit. My old D3 looked very chunky with 295/45x20 Grabber UHP's fitted (handling was somewhat "fun")

Been running stormers for many years on my D3 & now D4.
Don't know what the offset is, but mine do apear to stick out further than many others.
So I assume they'll be 45mm.
Had absolutely no issues with mine and do prefer the wider stance they give.
But you do need a wider treaded tyre IMO.

Checked the invoice for my last years Stormers and can confirm an ET of 53. So both will do. Further out looks 8) but will spray more mud on the side of your car..... which also looks 8)

Mine are non-genuine stormers and from what i remember the offset say's 55(could have been 45)either way they dont stick out to far and just fill the arches nicely.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

@Al, yes I believe you're correct that OE LR offset for stormers is 53mm.

@RonP, always liked the look of your set up hopefully what I buy will be close.

@Renton you mention more mud spray up on the D3. That I'm not worried about, but I also don't want spray shooting off the tires all over the place. I was behind a tricked out Chevy Caprice on the highway a while back the owner had put on wheels that stuck way out of the fenders. It was raining and spray was shooting off the guys tires like a firehose. Was ridiculous. That's the reason I'm concerned about how far out the wheels/tires will sit.

@BrianT, thanks for the feedback.

I'm ordering the 45 offset versions once they're on I'll update with pics.

Ron, I've got a 2005 D3 and will be looking at 285/50/20 tires. Cooper LTZ's are on my list, also the Falken Ziex S/TZ04 - which sort of resembles the Pirelli ATR. Just trying to sort out the wheels first.......
