DVD and TV while moving, disconecting cable? |
|
Hallo from Sweden!
I have a disco4 with all the entertainment.
I want it to be able to watch tv and dvd from the front screen while moving for the front passenger.
I recently heard that a cable under the gearshift could be removed to solov that.
I have the automatic gearstick, not the nob.
Does anyone know witch cabel it is and howe to remove the panels around the gearstick without breaking anything. A picture would be helpful.
A lot of discussions have been on this forum about this, but not with this solution.
A gues that it wolld help a lot of persons with the same problems.

I believe its a plug and pray job, just lift up the seat and disconnect from the DVD player.
Give Pete a buzz and confirm

On the 6 speed D3/4 is connects to the rear of the radio head unit. on the 8 speed MY2012 D4/RRS with the newer type nav screen it connects to the rear of ther nav screen. Both unit types are plug and play.

Just received the magic box yesterday from pete and couldn't wait to get box installed. The fitting is very easy, as long as you get access to the DVD screen which means you have to get off the trim around.. Well after 30 min, i refittet everything and went for a testdrive: GREAT, movies play whilst the car is moving. Thanks to Pete, again fast delivery and the box works as advertised.

I got the device last Friday and instaled it at once.
Been driving 500km last weekend and it worked perfectly.
In my car you have to remove the trim s around all the elektronics, remove the screen and losen the radiodevice under the screen and then connect the cabel.
Thanks Pete

I have looked at these - can you tell me if everything else works as it should when one of these gizmos is connected as I assume the system is being fooled into thinking the car is parked?

Yes everything semes to work as usual.
The only thing is, if you stop the car when TV is running and then start it up whith the Tv running then the camera for the reversefunktion will not work.
Just stop the car without the TV running and you will be fine.

If you have 4x4 info ... the gear selection will show park instead of what gear you are in ... It's not a problem and it does it on all makes of picture in motion modules G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
