About time... All though its nearly a privilege to get commercial tax in this country... It's not as if the alternative is even similar in price.

Agreed! €310 as opposed to €1,258 or something for the current 2012 MY Discovery 4 (because the Irish ones come with the lower output and lower CO2 TDV6 engine which saves another €1,000 over what the SDV6 would be!) Or it is €1,350 or something close for the 5 seater N1 Discovery 4 Utility, a vehicle that is unique to Ireland! 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

can only be taxed online if you have a valid doe cert if your doe cert is not in date afraid its a trip to your local tax office which is a pain.

And you can't tax it without a DOE cert either (at least that is what they are planning to introduce!).... 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

was in local stealers(spirit sandyford) today new d4 cant be bought as two seater commercial only as n1 vehicle five seats as opposed to 7 cost a cool 52,000 euro but vat can be claimed back but and it is a big but tax is 1100 as opposed to 310 euro no good to me with seats in the back why buy and take seats out and pay all that tax for two seats pity as i would love a d4 as two seat commercial with 310 tax. by the way tax on new d4 passenger a not so cool 2200 euro this government is ruining the motoring industry in this country where does it end

That just shows how much Spirit know!
There is a new 2 seat Commercial coming out, and it is available to order.......
However why nor order a UK spec one with ALL the options available from Toppings up North? It will cost less than the new one that is coming into the Irish market even after you've paid the 13.5% VRT on it......
Download the latest UK Price List and spec sheet off the LR UK website and see what I mean......!
The tax on the current 2012 HSE (Irish model) is only €1,200 or so, because they are all coming with the lower output TDV6 instead of the SDV6, drops a whole VRT and tax band! 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial
