Change wheels or not ???

My D4 goes in for it's first service this week....

As some of you know I've changed the 20" Landmark wheels for 19" HSE wheels/MTRs

Do I need to put the 20" wheels back on for it's service ?,ie if I don't and there is a problem will this invalidate my warranty ?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Not if they are genuine LR parts wheels, fitted and balanced correctly.

I've been in with FFRR 19"ers/MTRs & never had a problem, but depends on attitude of dealer. Mind you if it was a bearing drone I put the 17"/Conti combo on. Whistle

Personally I'd change 'em just to avoid the "well it has obviously been off roaded" cop out by the dealer to avoid warranty claim!

My D3 has always been serviced by the same main dealer. Whilst covered by the LR warranty it was serviced with the original HSE rims and also 19" FFRR rims with Goodyear MTR's fitted. It's now on 18" rims with ATR's. Nothing has ever been said, other than a discussion about the noise and braking of the MTR's on the road.

Personally, I'd not bother to change. In my experience with factory warranties, the dealer will claim as much as possible. It's bread & butter for the workshop.

cdsymons, surely they cannot try and avoid warranty work as it has been used off road ? Not much point in buying it then as far as I am concerned .

John

PS Am checking warranty .........
