My tyres on their way out and have around 2-3mm all round. I also have an unused spare. The D3 is shod with 255/55R19 Goodyear Wrangler HP.
Now, do I swap the 4 Wranglers and be done with it or do I swap all 4 plus the spare and move to General ATs?
I'm looking for a long wearing tyre for mainly school run miles. I do not offroad but would like a trye that can negotiate muddy fields when we visit the National Trust and its awful car parks.....
Am getting confused on what to do..... help!

ATRs any day of the week! 4 are ok for now. You could always sell the spare on here and use the best of the rest for a spare Joined the BMWX5 45e group

If you want to move to a different tyre for all four, then that's no problem, just means IF you do get a puncture, the other tyre will be different until you get the punctured one fixed or replaced.
Whilst it's not ideal to run with a different type of tyre, I ran 3 x 19 MTR and 1 x 18 AT for a couple of weeks no problem. You coiuld clearly tell the levels of grip were different when it was on Mud, but on the road, although I was naturally more cautious, there was no real cause for concern. Bodsys Brake Bible

General AT Still the most popular with our customers.
Pirelli have a good record as well.

What mileage would one expect from the Pirelli in comparison the the ATs?

ATR drivers say 40,000+.
We have one General AT driver on 43,000, don't think there will be much in the two.

Dilemma sorted - Thanks to Dean at AJS tyres . Ordered a set of General AT 255/55R19 late on Wednesday and delivered on Friday. A very competiive quote with good advice thrown in.
So far no noticeable change in road noise but only 15 miles driven so far. They look great in comparison to the old set...!

Yep, calling you is on my list too! My D3 S needs new boots as we are down to 4m ish and have a tour round France in the summer. Am I right thinking they are 17" wheels? Have GG on the defender at the moment and impressed with them unless you recommend any others?
