cheers, I should have mentioned that it's an MY12, I take it that this up-date still applies and a trip to the dealer is in order?

No software fix, new screen on order as it seems the touchscreen is not working. So another trip to the dealer and more inconvenience.

Yes, I've got to take my car back to the dealer to have a new screen fitted, which is currently on back order. They also managed to set the steering wheel out of alignment while they were 'failing' to cure a rattle around the steering column, left some trim dangling from the glovebox and didn't fit the heater control back properly, I will be trying another dealer when the first service is due.

I called my dealer this morning to see if there was an up-date on the replacement touchscreen, only to be told that the part is on back order (I knew this already) and they had no further information. All very frustrating as reversing camera, radio, nav etc is now a distant memory and I'm running out of patience. Does anyone have any idea how long I can expect to wait and at what point should I start to 'lose it?'

Has your dealer tried a hard battery reset and then attempted the software update ref the bulletin?

Don't know mate, they did manage to get the screen working again but it only lasted a few days and now it's gone again and they seem confident that it's a problem with the 'touch' element of the screen, hence I need a new one.

I know you've got an interest in this so thought I'd confirm back to you now that a new screen has been fitted. Car went in yesterday and wasn't ready for collection because LR sent over an engineer to approve the work because the part supplied is so expensive. Clearly they needed to be convinced that the only remedy was a new screen before approving the work, which they did. So I now have a new screen and so far it's all working fine, thought there might be an improvement in response times when engaging reverse, but it's as slow as ever!

The screen on my car was blank when i went to pick it up and tried switching off and on and so on but no joy. They did a reboot by disconnecting the battery for approximately 1min and reconnecting again and all worked well. Not sure whether it was something to do with the fitting of twin sockets at the dealer, but also had to reset the date and time and one shot operation of windows.
All has been fine since
