Not long at all, about 3-4 hours for mine, it is scarily quick, obviously longer putting together again. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Mikey, whats the usual ballpark cost of lifting the body and swapping the engine and refitting the body, PM me if you like.
other than the engine itself and coolant/oil, are there any other bits that you normally wouldnt be able to swap over from the original engine?

Once it's time to drop the body back down, what's stopping you from adding some 1" or so spacers to give a body lift? I can see a few things that may not fit quite properly, and that may require some fabrication. but I never read into the procedure that much, since I'm planning on leaving mine attached.
