I have noticed on several occassions when moving from the accelerator to the brake pedal that the inside of my shoe is catching on the edge of the brake pedal. Seems as if the accelerator is quite far to the right & the brake is possitioned rather close to it, with a large spacetothe left of the brake. Obviously this is the auto I am referring to. Is it just that my size 10's are too big?, or has anyone else encountered this - slightly worrying in that even a slight catch of the foot results in a delay in applying the brakes.

I have no problem with this, but I am only size 8.5!
I drove a Disco 2 before and I think the pedals are the same.

mmm size 10 here and no problems... I do find the footrest area is too small depending on what shoes I wear.
Buy then you guys have an auto so probably more room eh ?
Never thought I'd post my shoe size on the internet  but hey...

Simon - my reference to "size 10" was just meant to mean "big feet" rather than a literal size & was not meant to start a "mine's bigger than yours thread"!!!
Seariously, however looking carefully at the footwell I think that although there is space between accelerator & brake the problem is that the accelerator is close to the footwell side panel (as seen by the scuff marks occuring!) and as such to avoid scraping the panel I am instintively keeping my foot slightly away from it & towards the brake pedal. Problem seems the to be worse if wearing formal leather shoes with soles that protrude from uppers as opposed to eg trainers that are "smooth" down the sides.

And I thought that all LR had wellington sized/spaced pedals.
When I was in LR this was how LR ergonomics, a big word indeed for LR!! put it and I must be proof, as I have size 12 (US 13) boots, and I dont have any issues.

I decided to approach this one scientifically - took a tape measure out!
I still have a manual TD5 Disco, and the spacing is:-
4.5cm from footwell edge to right edge of accelerator
3.5 cm width of accelerator pedal
9.0cm between left edge of accelerator and brake pedal
Total edgeof brake to footwell = 17cm
New TDV6 auto:-
3.5cm from footwell edge to right edge of accelerator
4.0 cm width of accelerator pedal
6.5cm between left edge of accelerator and brake pedal
Total edgeof brake to footwell = 14cm
Never done this before  but measured my shoes & work boots, 12cm & 12.5cm respectively - so whereas there was a 5 cm margin for movement of foot in the TD5, the TDV6 is down to 1.5cm! 
Wonder if my brake pedal is just in need of readjusting? - issue is possibly less noticeable in left hand drive with accelerator near the central console.
