Popping noise when turning right
When turning right at low speed there is a popping noise, similar to a punctured tyre, coming from the rear of the car.
Can anyone shed any light?
thanks

Sounds like a CV joint. Can you see if the boot is torn and if there's grease?17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca

Thanks. I will have a look just as soon as the rain stops.

Checked the CV gaiters and they appear intact. I can't see anything else under there that looks loose. Any other suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks

An intact gaiter doesn't mean that the cv is necessarily ok...

OK. Had the car along to the local independent but couldn't repeat the noise. It's been test driven, up on the ramps and the undercarriage given a thorough inspection. The only things they can find are worn balljoints on both front wheels and bushes which need replacing. The only explanation for the noise seems to be that the balljoints may be causing it, even though it sounded as if it was coming from the rear of the car.
