| Rotating tryes to even wear |
|
About to rotate tyres (General Grabber on 17") to even out wear. Is it best to go front to back on same side or diagonally across?
Appreciate with latter may be some initial imbalance but that should reduce as they wear down

ISTR this is not recommended at all on a D3, can't remember the exact reason but something to do with suspension geometry 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Just ensure they are not directional tyres, a lot of newer tyres are. Running a tyre backwards normally invalidates insurance

"Refit road wheels to opposite sides of the same axle ( Use anti-sieze compound on spigot bore ) Not vehicles fitted with uni-directional tyres"
So it should be done at service, though I don't think it's ever been done on my D3  The End

So that's not swapping front to rear or diagonally, only left to right. I knew there was something somewhere about this 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

If its OK to swap left to right shouldn't be a problem doing that and front to rear at same time - 235/70/17s are not directional tyres AFAIK

yYes they are, there is a marking like >>rotation>> on the tyres. Near the rim on my Wintracs.

My Wintracs are going back on next week and I was planning to swap them front to back (not left to right as they are directional). The fronts seem to wear quicker so this should even them out. I'll check with the tyre shop when I get them done that this is OK and report back.

I swapped mine front to back same side recently. The fronts were wearing the edges quicker than the rears. My car has directional tyres.
