8 Speed Discovery IV Recovery |
|
Hi,
Is anyone able to describe how to disable park mode in a D4 with the new ZF 8 speed gear box and rising gear selector knob when the engine is not running ?
In the Owners Manual it says to call a proffesional recovery team.
Last time my D4 would not start I called the local dealer and he said it must be the starter (I don't know why), they sent in a recovery vechicle, but the operator hadn't the faintest idea how to get the car on the truch with all wheels locked, I called the dealer and he too did not know how to put the car in neutral with the engine dead. I have since called them several times and they still haven't found out.
Lucky for me finally it was not the starter bud a dead battery and with the help of some cables the car started.
However I beleive that in a country like Poland where the LR service is poor it would be better to know how to do the above myself for future sake.
Thanks for any help.

I think there is another pull wire next to the emergency handbrake release under the centre console. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

What an excellent question. As someone about to buy one, I'd like to know the answer, too. Especially since I'm going to be outside the UK without LR assist. PAGODA

On This Thread it implies that there is a red nylon pull handle next to the handbrake release to get the car into neutral. Cheers Ian
