When I found my D3 would not start one morning recently due to low battery I thought it was just the 5 year age of the thing. Knowing the tales of woe of failed battery = failed alternator I got the dealer to check. Both were reported fine and no idea why the battery would go down some nights and not others.
When it did it again, instead of getting out the jump leads I though I'd get Land Rover A(A)sist out. Chap did the tests and came up with the same answer as the dealer - both OK. However, he knew of the problem - tells me that one of the computers will wake up when it is supposed to stay asleep, and it then switches something on. If it is the radio it takes about 20 minutes to drop voltage enough to fail a start. The oddest he had was the one with the melted wiper blades - wipers had come on and swished away on a dry screen unill they melted and stalled the motor.
Sleepwalking or what! Anyone else suffered from this?A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

I think the suspension does it regulalry - it wakes up, checks level, if not it adjusts, hence cars sinking over long periods.
If its flattening the battery over night, it would suggest something fairly heavy duty for power (or on several times).
Mine sits on a solar trickle charger, which whilst it lowers if left 2 weeks (only in standard height start point) the battery remains fine.
