Steering "creek"

I have started to get a creeking noise coming from my steering. Its mainly noticable when I put the car into full lock. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what it could be?

You need to grease the steering lock bump stop thing, then it will be fine. Thumbs Up

When you say 'mainly noticeable', do you actually mean 'only noticeable'??

If so, then wot Bodsy says..... Thumbs Up

If you get it anywhere other than only at FULL lock, then it won't be the stops...

Thanks for the replies. I have just been out in the car to try it, and it does creek before hitting full lock. Any other ideas?

Did you put a dab of grease on them anyway as mine did it just before it hit full lock, not at full lock.

Internal or external?

Mine has the same internally which I am told is down to the rubber condom style thing fitted inside the steering wheel as a techncal enhancement to prevent wire chaffing Confused

The UJ in the steering column fills up with crud, might me that.
Worth greasing your bumpstops as well as Bods says.
