MOT Advisory - will WD cough ??? |
|
Well - good news and some not so good news perhaps
Beastie had it's MOT yesterday - passed OK but has an advisory on the rear wishbone bushes. My question is..... do you think WD will cough for work identified through this or will they simply lift the middle finger !

hmmm, lets think about that then ........
suppose it will depend on whether you have wear and tear cover as a starting point and what the criteria are, does it have to have failed, if its an advisory then it hasn't failed? Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Almost certainly not.
Been there, and tried it. You need to engage in a deft bit of tactics here to get what you want. WD won't pay for advisory work because nothing has failed. They will say that the component is still functioning and safe because the car has passed the MOT.
I had the same issue and waited a number of months before taking the car back to the garage, by which time the component was more worn. I complained of knocking, whatever. They checked it and found it worn, called WD and they paid up. PAGODA

Yes, W&T is covered (ExtraCare warranty) as is emmissions and airbags.
Decription on advisory is 'bushes deteriorated' - apparently noticeable but not enough to warrant a failure under MOT guidlines. That said, I have been concerned that the car has felt 'fidgety' for some time now.
How does it go............between a rock and a hard place ????
Warranty still good until May 2012 - as haven't claimed anything on it thus far, I may consider giving my £500+ to another worthy cause .

We posted at the same time, I think. You may not have read my reply when you posted yours.
I have their top cover. W&T is included, but the component hasn't failed. They won't pay.
Play the long game. Save your sanity and keep your blood pressure down by not calling them. It'll only irritate you. Wait a few months and put the car in for the work. PAGODA
