ipod cable gets in the way
Has anybody else noticed that on the 2012 D4 that when they plug an iphone / ipod in that it is difficult to open / close the lid as the cable gets in the way?
Solutions?

Can you not run the cable down the back of the tray [into the cubby box] and up the front of the tray.
I've done this with my USB phone charging cable and it doesn't get in the way.
But if I think on, the i lead is coiled is it not, so might not be so easy.
btw got my tray hinged to the cubby box - by means of duck tape but it does the job well ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

My D4's a 2011 model, but I had the same problem.
Sorted it out by sticking 2 pieces of velcro to the lid - as in the pic below.
Putting my ipod nano in a ipod sock (prevents it from being marked and also prevents any rattles) then putting a loop of double sided velcro round the sock and a smaller piece round the cable about half way along its length.
Works perfectly, no rattles at all, I can open and close the cubby box lid and access the fridge without the cable getting in the way. I've now also got a usb stick plugged in and the cable still stays put.
Should work similar if you have a larger ipod but would probably need an extra piece of velcro on the lid.

I've done the same as Woody (apart from the sock) as my Nano just stays in there full time, it keep the cable nice and tidy Cheers Ian

I've got a ipod nano 5th gen and it nearly always doesn't play back from when I switched the car off even though it says it should do in the car handbook.
Any ideas?

I just had my original Nano replaced by Apple with a 6th Gen one but it always remembers where it was so to speak, never had the problem with the original either all worked as expected.Cheers Ian

So in other words when you switch the car off and leave the ipod connected, the next time you push the ignition the ipod starts from the same track?
That only works in my car if I press pause on the car screen and disconnect the ipod!! Most of the time if I don't do that it plays from a random playlist at the first track....very odd

Ok thanks, seems odd mine doesn't work like that! It's a 2011 car so should be ok.
Cheers

Have you got another IPod you could try in, that would let you know whether it's the Ipod or car that is at fault.Cheers Ian

Yes, I'll try my son's he's got an identical one. Hadn't thought of that....Doh
If that doesn't work I'm gatting a new car in March so maybe it'll work properly in that! Expensive way to get an ipod to work though!!
Thanks

Mine mostly starts from the position it was at when I last used the D4, only time it doesn't is when I've not used the D4 for a few days as the Ipod battery has gone flat in which case the it just starts playing in alphabetical order.

Maybe that's the reason then!
I'll see what happens, but as you say it goes back to an alphabetical list.
