Well.
After placing my order for a new D4 Commercial a couple of weeks ago...I have just had to cancel it.
I am gutted..it was going to be fully loaded and just want I wanted.
A customer of mine has just gone pop owing me £40k......so, having to reign in all expiture for the next 12 months. The Navara will have to do.
I suppose i can now thank L/R for having a 14 week lead time....
Still, a var vary sad day....I wont get to play with my new toy...well, not for at least another 12 months

Sorry to hear it
How did L/R take it? Had you paid a deposit? Have they laid claim to your children & banished you from their shiny showrooms?

Yup....paid £1000 deposit....hopefully get it back....after all, with such a waiting list, someone would have taken my spot..
In hind sight, maybe I should have carried on with it, got the vehicle, then sell it straight away and maybe make a small profit
After all...I need to make as much money as I can now....
For the first time ever, I did the lottery for tonight...not that I am desperate or anything...Oh well, thats life...

Same thing happened to me a while ago, long standing customer went down owing me almost £70K. Don't forget you can get the VAT back and deduct it from tax.

I know the feeling.....one of our biggest suppliers in Dublin went under yesterday leaving us with no new equipment for the time being....which means we can't complete some of our orders on time! Thankfully our customers are understanding........ 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial
2019 Discovery 5 HSE

ther is some out there ,keep strong and work your way through it good luck -------------------------------------------------
if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

Its a fine balancing act... the Banks have a lot to answer for.. We got done for £50 k last year as well...
in both cases, the customers had a strong order book, but had overstreched themselves with investment in equipment to keep up with demand, only for the Banks to suddenly reduce there credit...they therefore folded.
the most think is when the Company set up again with a similar name, same directors but with clear debt...bloody pre packs !!!! thought up by accountants and bankers !!!!

Quite agree.
We are a small company employing 40 staff (food business) and although things are great at the moment, business can be so volatile! Nothing can be taken for granted anymore and sadly trust is not what it was!
I really feel for the guy who had to cancel his D4, but chin up, it'll all come good in the end. We lost a stack about 10 years ago to a company I trusted and had to sell my RR but it ended up ok, although you never get the money back!!
Tell you what, if my numbers come up this weekend, I'll buy you that D4!!

just got to be wise with money , we dont get new vans ,we get good used vans etc and pay for them outright , then if things go bad it can be sold with out the worry of hp etc , some of my mates are paying 800 a month for 2 fancy vans its only a mobile tool box as long as its clean and tidy -------------------------------------------------

Thanks for that it'd look good sitting in the yard with my Aintree D4 HSE beside it!
If it's any consolation, we survived our bad debt and within 2 years I had a RR again (NOT new!!) and now I wouldn't be without my D4, cracking bit of kit. My son in Law has a commercial D4 and loves it too
You'll get there don't worry!!

Thats what I was going to get. D4 Commercial with
Commercial Luxury Pack
Commercial Convenience Pack
Electric seat and Armrest pack
Hybrid TV
Surround camara
Heated Front Seats
Cooler Box
Remote Park Heater
Locking Dif
explorer Roof Rack
Under body Protection
Winch
It would have been a stonking vehicle.....
i could still go ahead and get in on HP....but i hate buying on tick....as someone else said, if you pay for it when you can afford it...it doesnt commit yourself to anything, so you can react if something bad happens.
Still, give me a couple of weeks, pull of a couple of deals and i can buy it again
