Customers with older ACM's fitted LR006792, VPLAE0001 and LR004806 can benefit from this new lead. The latest generation of phones iphone etc require a higher charge rate and as result some customers have complained that there phone does not charge. The standard link lead supplied with the afore mentioned part numbers limited the charge rate (mainly to protect the ECU against short circuit) the charge rate was ample for the older phones but is right on the limit of charging new devices. So if a customer comes in with a charge problem and has the very latest type device then this lead will sort the problem.

No problems charging my 3G or my 3GS, will this cable still come up with the non compatible accessory screen?

Sorry about this but I need to know,
I have an HSE with the full D3 car kit using a nokia and LR cradle.
The nokia 6230 range are finished and mine is on it's last legs.
QUESTION. Can i use my Iphone 3 G and integrate it with the same controls using this cable?
As I said sorry I am not too clued up on the high tech electronic side of vehicles. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem!

This is for the ACM, not the phone kit - it's a replacement cable for the iPod/MP3 player control kit, not to replace the phone cradle cable.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Forgive me for being totally stupid and clueless, but does this cable plug in somewhere and just charge the phone (or does it have other functions?), instead of say one from the cigarette lighter socket? If yes, would it work on a 2005 S with premium audio?
And of course you know the next question, where is the ACM that it plugs into

ACM = Audio Connectivity Module, an optional box to connect iPods/MP3 players/USB sticks to the aux port and provide charging and steering wheel controls.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

As an iPod - yes, in conjunction with an ACM.
As a phone, I'm pretty sure yes - but only with the bluetooth phone kit, not the phone cradle.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

this lead is a replacement lead for LR's accessory fit ipod connection system
it will do nothing for standard spec vehicles. You mut have bought in the last couple years the LR accessory ipod connection kit..either p/n LR004806, LR006792 or VPLAE0001TLO has left the building.......

Nick
So if we were to buy the connection kit, does that give us control of the iphone (even if its just the ipod part of it) from the steering wheel controls. I have an 05 S with premium audio (i think, its the 6 stack cd one) but do not have any phone controls.
Assuming I'm right so far (or possibly not ), with this connection kit does it also take music back into the aux button on the audio system through this bottom cable or do I still need a cable in the top at the headphone outlet?
Does this kit come with a cradle or do we need to provide that?
The cables are obviously of a certain length, is it only around the dash that this can be fitted?
Any more info for those of us that aren't really audio experts would be great.
And assuming I'm still on the right track, how much do I need to grease your palm with for said kit?
the connection kit has this new version of lead already inside
connecting it to the iphone allows control of the ipod portion via the wheel controls...track and volume change
it will not show track or artist details via the sat/nav screen
this cable as shown is al that plugs into the iphone so no need to us earphone socket and the cable charges the iphone also
this kit does not come with cradle, some forum members have bought retro cradles form eblag and as the cable is quite long this can be routed to allow storage of the iphone in the glovebox, centre dash or i beleive into the centre cubby box

Spot on Nick, I have mine in the cubby box lid. Do you sell the iPhone insert for the cradle? When I bought mine it came with the shuffle 1st and 2n generation adapters and then a 30Gb and 60Gb adapter.Club Exped trailer
