| Help Required - SRS light out with chime |

Every time I turn the key from position 0 to position II, the dash lights all come on and system check occurs, the last light to go out is the SRS light and as it goes out a chime is heard. This is prior to starting the engine and happens every time, not just in the morning or when engine is cold. The car is parked flat/level and is a June '06 build. 4500 miles now. Oil level is at top mark when engine cold and coolant level is up to the cold mark.
Should this chime occur? Nothing in Manual about it.
There are similar posts but not exactly the same. Please help me in identifying if there is an issue, I don't recall the chime to start with. NOW SOLD: 2006 TDV6 SE Auto Zermatt silver with Alpaca Leather

The chime a few seconds after turning the key with the system check message is normal on all 05 and 06 cars. I discovered yesterday that 07 models don't have this. The System Check message is still there.
Some members (including me) have reported a second chime after the engine starts. My second chime has gone since the 60k service, although my dealer said he could not find anything.
