D4 Rear Lights - Condensation |
|
I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me if they've experienced condesation behind the rear lights on a D4 (mine is MY11). washed the car today using my normal routine of snow foam, medium pressure rinse, and the bucket and mitt with a final medium pressure rinse. By medium pressure, I mean just that I use the Karcher vario-lance at a mid setting i.e. it doesn't blast the paint off !
While I was drying off the car, I noticed condensation had formed in both rear light clusters at the bottom and sides, so I just wanted to know if this is normal and whether the weather seal for the LED bulbs may have been compromised. It definitely wouldn't be the pressure that did it beacause I don't use the Karcher in blast mode, just as a rinse aid. 2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT

This is common... Especially after washing.. My rear D4 lights did it from new and the condensate soon clears, my neighbours have just bough new cars, one has a Audi RS3 and the other a 3 series BMW, both cars have the same issue and the handbooks state this may happen and is not a fault If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works
