Rear Axle Fault

Hi Guys,

I had 'Rear Axle Fault', emergency brake assist and stability control unavailable message appear while diving in town. On restarting the engine they disappeared and I've done a lot of miles since and it hasn't re-appeared.

Should I be worried? Should I call LRA? It's in warranty still.

Thanks!

Ghost in the machine? If it was me I'd get the tea leafs read, purely coz it's in warranty. More they do now the better. Thumbs Up

I've starting to wonder if I have gremlins - I've only had it 2 months and LRA have already recovered it once with a leaking transfer box.

LRA said that it was probably triggered by a transient sensor problem/reading out of range - as it went away on engine restart and it hasn't happened since and I've done 50 miles I should be ok.

You've either inadvertantly covered the brake and accelerator at the same time or you are a left foot braker and have done the same. Don't worry it is not a fault, merely the system cannot cope with your input. As you have found a stop and restart cycle has resolved it.
